Where is home?

We currently call Colorado our home for the next few months while our stuff resides in Mesquite, Texas with Leland’s parents. We didn’t anticipate all that it entails to be in transition and “homeless.” We are blessed with people who love us and allow us to stay with them, but not having a place to call our own has been challenging.

I am reminded that Jesus did his years of ministry without a place of his own. He always relied on others to provide a home, food and other necessities. What an amazing challenge to always rely on others.pile-of-suitcases_249x340

In Matthew 8:19-20, I am reminded of Jesus’ call to us. “Then a teacher of the law came to him and said, ‘Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go.’ Jesus replied, ‘Foxes have dens and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.'” Right now, these scriptures ring more true to us than we ever imagined. We have been traveling to several places, we have been adjusting to new lifestyles, we have been flexible in our living arrangements, and in all of it, we wouldn’t change a thing because we know God continues to mold us and shape us to prepare of for His work.

We have continually been blessed by God’s peace during this transition to follow Him to Uganda. Even with difficult times, we have no doubt that He’s moving before us.
